Application Development

In the realm of application development consulting, the term "internal" can refer to several key aspects. These include:

  • Internal Processes: This refers to the methodologies, frameworks, and workflows used within the development team or organization. It involves optimizing how tasks are carried out, such as project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum), version control systems, code review processes, and deployment strategies.
  • Internal Tools and Systems: This refers to the software tools and systems used internally by the development team to streamline their workflow. Examples include project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello), communication platforms (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams), version control systems (e.g., Git), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Internal Knowledge Sharing: This involves fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the development team. Examples include initiatives such as code documentation, conducting internal tech talks or workshops, establishing mentorship programs, and creating internal wikis or knowledge bases.
  • Internal Quality Assurance: This focuses on ensuring the quality of the software being developed through internal testing, code reviews, and quality assurance processes. It involves implementing testing frameworks (e.g., unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests), performing code reviews, and maintaining coding standards and best practices.
  • Internal Security Measures: This encompasses implementing security best practices and measures to protect internal systems and data. Examples include conducting security audits, implementing secure coding practices, managing access controls and permissions, and staying updated on security vulnerabilities and patches.

By focusing on these internal aspects, application development consulting can help organizations improve their development processes, enhance collaboration and communication within the team, ensure the quality and security of their software, and ultimately deliver better products to their customers.

SAP CFIN - Central Finance

Central Finance allows for a smooth transition to a centralized SAP S/4HANA on-premise edition while maintaining your current system landscape, which includes various SAP systems with different releases and accounting approaches, as well as non-SAP systems. This enables you to establish a Central Reporting Platform for FI/CO, with the option of creating a common reporting structure. Furthermore, specific financial processes can be executed centrally in this system.

To create common reporting structures, you can map your different accounting entities, such as account, profit center, or cost center, in your source systems to one common set of master data in the central system. You can then replicate financial accounting and management accounting postings to your Central Finance system.

In your SAP S/4HANA system, FI documents and CO postings are combined into a single document - the universal journal entry. Additionally, all cost elements are part of the chart of accounts. Before replicating CO postings to the Central Finance system, it's essential to ensure that accounts are available for all cost elements. You can also replicate certain cost objects, such as internal orders, to the Central Finance system.

In a typical set-up, multiple source systems are connected to one System Landscape Transformation Replication Server, which is further connected to one Central Finance system.
